Hair Removal Treatment

The Treatment of unwanted hair

Unwanted hair removal has now become so time consuming and there are many different methods available to remove unsightly hair such as shaving, waxing, plucking, electrolysis, etc.

Unfortunately with all of these methods the hair grows back relatively quickly and the process needs to be repeated. The use of Super Hair Removal (SHR) at Bexhill Cosmetic Clinic ensures that you are treated with a clinically proven, safe and effective long term method of removing unwanted hair.

The hair removal system we use is the SkinPULSE SHR Aesthetic system, by Cosmedico Medical Systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many treatments will it take to reduce my hair?

On average 8 – 12 treatments but this may vary due to individual variations. Top-up treatments will be required to maintain the hair reduction.

Can all types of hair be removed?

You can only treat hairs with colour in them. Therefore, the treatment will not be effective on white hairs, extremely blonde or very fine hairs.

Is it painful?

The treated area feels warm and there can be a slight tingling on the skin. Occasionally there can be redness around each hair follicle which can last up to 48 hrs.

How often will I need a treatment?

This will depend on the rate of your individual hair growth, for example, legs hairs will need treatment on average every 4 weeks. The laser is only effective on actively growing hairs.

What skin colours can be treated?

We can treat both darker skin types and suntanned skin. However, you will need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks for treatment after any application of fake tan. There may be some circumstances when your practitioner feels that your skin is not suitable for treating, for example, if they identify evidence of sunburn or fake tan. We take your safety seriously. Please do not be offended if you are prevented from having a treatment. It will only be to ensure you are not hurt by the laser.

What reaction will I expect to see on my skin after treatment and how do I maintain regrowth between appointments?

You may have some slight redness following a treatment. This may last between one and eight hours. We recommend applying a soothing aloe vera gel to the skin following a treatment session. In rare cases, some clients require the application of cool packs to the area treated.

For 24 hours after your treatment you should avoid heat treatments, saunas, physical exercise, and direct sun exposure. We also recommend using sun block on exposed areas.

Between Laser Hair Removal treatments, you can only shave the area. You must shave the treatment area 12 to 6 hours before your appointment. No waxing or plucking is permitted as this can disrupt the hair growth cycle and make subsequent treatments less effective. No other method of hair removal can be used.

Bexhill Cosmetic Clinic does not provide intimate hair removal for men. We apologise for the inconvenience.
